Marketing and Communications Intern

Responsibilities:
• Update and maintain our social media presence, including scheduling social media updates
• Assist in planning, writing and managing e-Newsletter
• Draft, distribute and pitch news releases, media alerts and other stories
• Assist in designing flyers, graphics, e-vites and other marketing materials
• Update our website when needed
• Organize and attend monthly marketing committee meeting including preparing agenda and taking minutes
• Collaborating with staff on new ideas, directions, and venues for marketing and communications
• Plan and facilitate Marketing Committee meetings including distributing agenda and taking minutes

Qualifications:
• Firm grasp of available tools and platforms in the social media space
• Completed or working toward a college degree, preferably in a related field (e.g., English, Marketing/Communications, or Public Relations)
• Previous internship or related experience in marketing or communications is a plus
• Must be computer literate (working knowledge of word processing, PowerPoint, Excel).
• An effective communicator, both written and oral
• Ability to communicate in a professional manner with press and community contacts
• Self-motivated, good organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines

Sustainability Reporting - Consultant

VNV Advisory is looking for an experienced sustainability consultant to join our growing team. The candidate will work with our sustainability reporting team, supporting clients to understand and fulfil their reporting obligations (GRI Standards reporting/GRI G4 reporting).

Skills and Experience sought

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in sustainability reporting in accordance with GRI Standards/ GRI G4 across social, environmental and economic categories.
  • Understanding of reporting regulation and frameworks: GHG protocol standards, mandatory GHG reporting, UNFCC, GRI reporting framework, carbon footprint, water footprint, energy footprint etc.
  • Sound understanding of Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions.
  • Sound understanding of CSR reporting.
  • Experience in research, data analysis, report writing and strategy development.
  • Should be comfortable using Microsoft office tools (word, excel, PowerPoint)

Educational Qualification

M.Sc. in fields relevant to sustainability- energy, environmental management, resource management, water management, sustainable development. Other degrees will be considered too, based on work experience.

Responsibilities

While working with VNV Advisory’s sustainability reporting team, the candidate will actively be a part of the following

  • Business Development- Managing projects which involve market research, identification of potential clients and preparing proposals for the clients.
  • Sustainability Report Preparation- Working with clients in creating sustainability reports in accordance with GRI Standards. Must be familiar with GRI G4 too.  This could involve looking into the social, economic and environmental performance of clients.
  • Research and Development- Carrying out research and development for VNV’s sustainability reporting projects.
  • Training- Conducting GRI training, materiality engagements, and stakeholder engagement sessions.
  • Client Coordination- Coordinate with clients to collect data and prepare the report.
  • Data Analysis- Conducting data analysis for social, environmental and economic parameters.
    1. Environment- Energy, Water, Carbon, Air emissions, Waste data analysis.
    2. Economic- Revenue Analysis
    3. Social- Labour Data Assessment, CSR Data Analysis.
  • Report Writing- Write sustainability reports based on GRI Standards.
  • Designing- Coordinating report design with VNV’s design team.
  • Assurance- Coordinating the assurance process with the assurance team for the sustainability reports.
